I was the main developer and worked with the CTO to build fully a functional money transfer platform.
TransferFriend was a competitor to TransferWise and beat them to market in Malaysia and Singapore. The app offered international transfers between MYR, SGD, and other currencies in neighboring countries. Customers were able to deposit money from physical cash-in locations or through local money transfers. The app converted the money through an external exchange partner andtransferred it to the target account.
The app backend included KYC tools and integration with the international KYC database. Also tools for tracking physical cash-ins, conversion, and transfer statuses.
- Worked with CTO to plan the solution and pick technologies
- Helped with detailed analysis, created and estimated development tasks
- Developed the mobile app, REST API, and web backend
- Built integrations with payment providers and KYC service
- Helped the CTO pick and set up hosting
- Maintained the code and hosting
