I was the main developer for TheWeddingly.com and Weddingly.ee wedding services marketplace.
The marketplace provides UI for searching through tens of thousands of wedding service providers in 18 service categories. It uses algorithms to find** the best match** for each couple taking into account geographic location, budget, date, and other preferences. It also allows service providers to more efficiently find bookings for all their available slots.
The app allows effective communication of requirements for each wedding service category. It provides real-time chat between the couple and service providers to keep all communication in one place. It provides tools for exchanging agreements and making payments for the services.
- Took over the initial prototype built on top of WordPress
- Took over Android and iOS hybrid apps
- Planned and executed conversion to a more suitable technologies
- Helped with choosing and migrating to more suitable hosting solution
- Automated testing, code quality checks, and deployments
- Build internationalization capabilities for the US site
- Developed a lot of new features including subscriptions, premium features, location map, marketing integrations, etc
- Planned and built a weights-based matching algorithm and UI for tweaking the weights
- Managed work for one junior developer
- Provided development of new features based on real-world feedback.
- Provided long-term maintenance including version updates and bug fixes.
